This is an ongoing series that I began in 2013. I have always considered Far Rockaway to be its own separate colony - a place where the one-way streets, already narrow, are made more so by the abundance of parked cars. They connect areas with sometimes strikingly varied housing styles. I am fascinated by the individuals that reside in this secluded area, and that despite their versatile characteristics, they all remain devoted to the ocean.
